Fix : Windows 8 Screen Goes Black After Login

Sometimes if you have installed new application or done some changes to your Windows 8/8.1 PC and after you boot and login to your PC, You get Black screen with mouse pointer only and you can only do handful of tasks with it. But that is enough to resolve the issue we are having.

Here’s the tutorial on how to resolve the issue :

In this issue, You would be able to open the Task Manager. So, Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys at once.

Now, In Task Managers, Go to File and click Run new task. A Run window will open like below.

Create new task with Task Manager

Now, Type rstrui.exe in run window, Select Create this task with administrative privileges like image below.

Open Restore Point using Run command

Now click OK and it’ll open System Restore window and if you have a Restore point there, You can restore it to resolve the black screen issue.

If rstrui.exe doesn’t help because of no restore points, You can try explorer.exe in command prompt to remove any last software you may have installed.
